Residents may drop-off leaves, brush, branches and grass clippings only. Leaves and grass clippings must be kept separate from brush and branches. Stumps, logs and branches larger than 4 inches in diameter may not be brought to the composting site. Barrels will be available for disposal of emptied leaf bags. Staff will be on-hand to direct and assist residents.
The Composting Facility is located at the Public Works Facility on Boston Street, just north of Route 97. Any questions concerning the composting operations please call Gary Wildes, Highway Superintendent at (978) 887-1542.
The Topsfield Public Works Composting Facility will be open again starting April 16th. The usual hours remain in effect 9AM-1PM on Saturdays. The Public Works Building has a security gate that will open at 9 AM so please do not arrive too early.Please take note that when you enter the facility to stay to the right up the hill to the right of the office and remain in single file and in your vehicles. Residents will be directed by staff when to dump and will only be allowed one vehicle at a time. After dumping you will be directed by staff to exit the area to the right of the building and follow the perimeter road back and down to Route 1.Update: Composting will close for the season on November 19th.
