Below is a list of issues that customers have notified us about and an explanation as to the cause of the problem is provided when possible.
Hydrant flushing started on March 31, 2007 and will continue until the end of April or early May. Residents may have discolored water as a result of the flushing.
Discolored water was reported on Howlett Street at noon time.

There was a water main break at 100 High Street this morning that caused black water along High Street, Central Street, Main Street and Boston Street.
The Highway Department and a drain cleaning vendor were jetting drain lines on Forrest Road, Ross Road, Central Street, Summer Street and Park Street today. The vendor's equipment requires water and several hydrants were used to fill storage tanks. Dirty water was reported on Ross Road.
An annual fire sprinkler inspection was conducted at Dawson's Hardware and dirty water was reported in adjacent units during the afternoon.
Discolored water was reported in the area of Main Street and School Avenue around midday. A street sweeper was working in the area and used a hydrant to fill its water tank.
There was a house fire on Moonpenny Drive in Boxford on September 18, 2007 and a hydrant on River Road was used to fill fire tankers that shuttled water to the fire scene. The high flows at the hydrant stirred up sediment all over Town and it took several days to settle. We flushed some areas of Town on the 19th and the water finally cleared up by the 21st.
