The Topsfield Water Department was created in 1949 and provides drinking water and fire protection to approximately 80% of the Town of Topsfield as well as the Masconomet Regional School District. Our supply and distribution network includes 50 miles of water mains, 400 hydrants, 800 valves, two pumping stations, two storage tanks, and 1,720 service connections.

A three member Board of Water Commissioners oversees the Department. Each member serves a three-year term with one member up for election each year. The Board approves the budget and capital plan, sets water rates, and sets policy. Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Public Works Building at 7:30 A.M. A rate hearing is usually held during the April Board meeting. Customers and residents are always welcome to attend.
